The compact heated liquid sampler is used with Galaxy Scientific’s QuasIR 2000 fiber based FT-NIR spectrometer to analyze liquid-based products’ samples. It features a temperature-controlled fiber-coupled main sample chamber along with a preheating chamber which is designed to hold multiple samples at a time. The compact heated liquid sampler has an easy to read 3.2” touch screen interface where the temperature values are displayed and set.
The Eastern Analytical Symposium and Exposition has ended, and Galaxy Scientific was pleased to have exhibited this year. EAS is an annual event that provides continued education, including a look into new technologies, for scientists and students in the analytical and allied sciences. The symposium featured papers, workshops, and short courses in addition to oral and award sessions, special lectures and poster sessions.

Focusing on the complete skill set practitioners to require, EAS also featured talks on regulatory affairs, compliance, CRO/CMOS, and lab management.”

A calibration is shown for fresh poultry meat that analyzes protein, fat, and moisture content. Galaxy Scientific’s portable high-performance QuasIR series of Fourier transform near-infrared spectrometers were exhibited at the VIV Asia 2019 Feed and Food Show, which took place on March 13th-15th in Bangkok. The instruments were shown by Adisseo Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.
Adisseo gave live demonstrations using a QuasIR FT-NIR spectrometer in combination with their cloud-based PNE (Precise Nutrition Evaluation) NIR database to analyze various feed ingredients for the common proximate values such as protein, moisture, fat, fiber, etc.
In addition, it was demonstrated how the Galaxy Scientific spectrometer, with the Adisseo PNE database, measures digestible energies as well as key amino acids in commonly used feed ingredients. This quick cloud-based analysis provides feed producers with valuable information about the nutrients in their feed ingredients, enabling cost savings while maintaining animal nutrition performance.

Galaxy Scientific Inc. announces their latest product in their line of portable spectroscopy systems. Galaxy Scientific’s Fiber Optic Multiplexer allows a single spectrometer to automatically switch between up to ten different sampling devices enabling near-infrared measurements from multiple sampling points or multiple product streams.
The Multiplexer switches the input and output fibers from the spectrometer using a rotary steering mechanism. It is designed to accept standard SMA905 low-OH optical fiber inputs and is designed to switch 600um solid core fiber. Smaller core fiber or larger core fiber bundles are also compatible. The multiplexer is factory configurable at the time of order to have any number of channels between 2 and 10 and more channels can be added after purchase. The compact and rugged design allows the unit to be placed close to the sample points and distant from the spectrometer, reducing the cost of long fiber optic runs while still protecting the sensitive instrumentation.
